About Us

Like everybody else out there, we're just a handful of broken pieces, falling through our own fingers as we try to sift out something whole.

And, like everybody else, we've been caught again and again by his grace.

We created this blog to share with others how God's awesome grace has impacted our lives, and how it will impact us in the journey we are about to go on.

We're Caleb and Britney Dossett! Our story started in 2010, during our freshman year at Greenville College. We met through mutual friends, and were immediately drawn to each other. Our time in Greenville was spent creating lifelong friendships, taking late night trips to McDonalds, going on walks around the square, and making memories that we would never forget. We got engaged on October 29, 2012 (the day after the Cardinals won the World Series!). Our wedding was on August 25, 2012. It had been an extremely hot summer, and we were worried about how our outside wedding would go. However, it was a magical day committing to one another in front of our family and friends, dancing to a super cool band, and enjoying a nice breeze every now and then.

At Greenville College, Caleb majored in English, minored in music, and got his TESOL (teaching english to speakers of other languages) certificate. Britney majored in Urban/Cross-Cultural Ministry. Caleb graduated with honors in December of 2012, and Britney graduated in May of 2013.

As graduation drew nearer, we were flooded with questions about what to do next. Throughout our relationship, we discussed our desires to serve overseas. Caleb's TESOL certificate gave us the opportunity to apply for jobs in several different countries, including South Korea, Germany, and Iraq. Some things fell through, and we weren't exactly sure what to do next. We were in the process of applying for a teaching job in South Korea, but something about it didn't feel quite right.

In March of 2013, we were planning to take a late honeymoon trip to Vienna, Austria. Caleb grew up in Vienna and had always wanted to take Britney to the beautiful city. While preparing for our trip, Caleb decided to check out the website for the school he attended in Vienna. To our surprise, there was an opening for an ESL teacher! It was exactly what we were looking for, and it just happened to be somewhere that Caleb was familiar with. We spent a week in Vienna doing all the awesome tourist things, while also seeing old friends of Caleb's.

We had an interview at ICSV (International Christian School of Vienna). Throughout the whole process, we both felt completely at peace. A few weeks later we received an email offering us the position at ICSV. After much prayer, and talking with our families, we accepted the job.

So, what exactly will we be doing in Vienna? Caleb will be the ESL teacher for secondary students. Britney will be an office assistant as well as a teacher's assistant for elementary. The school has over 50 different nationalities, and is openly Christian, which will give us the opportunity to share the gospel with our students. Most private schools in the area are very expensive. ICSV is about half the cost of other schools. Every teacher at the school, including us, has to raise support to teach there. This allows the school to get financial aid for the students and reduce the cost. It has been a sometimes difficult and humbling experience for us as we work on raising support, but it has also been full of fun and exciting moments. We truly believe that God is calling us to serve in Vienna, and we are excited to see where this adventure will take us.

Thank you for checking out our blog! We hope to post at least once a week with updates about our daily lives, support, and just fun info.

Peace,
Caleb & Britney
